Vice President, Nicolas Maduro chairs the main event of the celebration of the eight years of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America, which takes place in the Plaza Bolivar in Caracas. "The absence of the president-elect moves us all" begins the letter of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who writes to Venezuela, and that Vice President Nicolas Maduro read at the Eighth Anniversary of Alba, held in the Plaza Bolivar in Caracas. The letter briefly describes how the president of the Caribbean nation met the Venezuelan president, when he recently had been released from treatment. Maduro described the letter as "a message of solidarity."

Nicolas Maduro on the eighth anniversary of the ALBA, read a letter sent by President Fidel Castro, which emphasizes support for the Venezuelan people and President Hugo Chavez.

The letter sent by the commander and leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, from Cuba, states that the name of Hugo Chavez "is admired and respected in the world," so that "all and even many adversaries wish you a speedy recovery. "

Castro added that the clock has accompanied President Chavez on the evolution of the post-operative process.

"Dear Mr. Maduro, based on anniversaries I want to express that the absence of Chavez upsets us all (...) I met Hugo Chavez on a trip he made to Cuba and talked with him for hours (...). The name of Hugo Chavez is admired and respected in the world, everyone and even many of opponents wish you a speedy recovery, doctors struggle with optimism for this purpose. As is known, all Cubans are Bolivarian revolutionaries."

Also in the letter, Fidel Castro let them know: "Venezuela for its part, has been in particular solidarity with the peoples of the Caribbean, Central and South America, and have developed strong ties with Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and others. It has cultivated relations with Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and other republics of the former USSR."

Nicolas Maduro, as part of the celebration of the eighth anniversary of the ALBA, thanked everyone for supporting and endorsing the Venezuelan people in this complex time.

"In the name of everyone, we want to thank you all for the generosity and love expressed to President Chavez," said Maduro.

He also recognized that every sentence the delegates said about the Venezuelan President, "in their words they said great truths, it is true that Chavez helped this organization."

Likewise, Vice President Nicolás Maduro made an appeal to the Venezuelan people and patriots to come out to vote on Sunday, December 16th, in the regional elections in the country. "Keeping the Homeland, with Chavez and the future of our children, get out to vote on Sunday."

Regarding statements expressed by U.S. President Barack Obama on the health of Chavez, the Venezuelan Vice President said it was "reprehensible" when "the world is sensitized and when men and women have prayed."

"On Friday, the President of the United States gave a really outrageous statement, sad, deplorable, despicable, miserable, precisely when our dear President, was re-elected and ratified by the Venezuelan elections of the freest in the world that, with the best electoral system, precisely when the leader of this country is going through tough times," he said.

The following is a continuation of the letter from President Fidel Castro.

"Dear Nicolas Maduro, because of the occasion of celebrating the anniversaries that you celebrate today, I wish to express the following, the absence of the President elected by more than 8 million Venezuelans touches us all.

I met Hugo Chavez exactly 18 years ago, someone invited him to Cuba and he accepted the invitation. He told me he had the idea to request an interview with me.  He was far from imagining that those military men branded by the cable news agencies as participants in the coup, who with so much tact for years planting their ideas, were a select group of Bolivarian revolutionaries.

I waited for Chavez at the airport, I drove him to the place of his accommodation and talked with him for hours exchanging ideas. The next day at the Assembly Hall of the University of Havana, everyone expressed their ideas.

Our conceptions differ in ways that are alien to the concepts and principles politicies of which we do not even talk. Our medical cooperation began in Venezuela following the Vargas tragedy, in which thousands of people died as a result of neglect and unpredictability where the poorest people lived in that state.

Venezuela, for its part, has been especially in solidarity with the peoples of the Caribbean, Central and South America, developed strong ties with Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and others. It has cultivated relations with Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and other republics of the former USSR. Do not forget Palestine and Libya. Pay attention to its economic and political relations with China.  It is in solidarity with the people of Africa, practicing a policy of peace with all countries.

Hugo Chavez lives. Onward to victory. "
