Russian Circus Actors Won Highest Awards at Youth Contest in Paris

Actors of the Russian State Circus won the highest awards at the youth circus contest, which was held on January 30 - February 4 in Paris, the press service of the Russian State Circus told RIA Novosti.

Four acrobats won the gold medal for the trick "Gymnasts on Horizontal Bars".

Leisan Gayazova, a student of the Kazan circus school, won the silver medal for the trick "Gymnast in a Ring".

Three 12-year old gymnasts from the Kaskad amateur public circus (Novovoronezh), won the bronze award for the trick "Statuettes".

Maxim Volkov's clown group was awarded with the special prize of the jury.

The contest of young circus talent has been annually held in Paris since 1977. Some 35 actors from different countries participate in it. The contest is held in two age categories: Circus of Tomorrow /29-30 years/ and Circus of the Future /actors under 16/.
