Presentation of National Academy of Film Art and Science to be held during Moscow International Film Festival

The ceremony of the presentation of the National Academy of Film Art and Science will be held on June 26 as part of the Moscow International Film Festival due to open in Moscow next Friday, said in a RIA Novosti interview first vice-president of the academy, prominent film director Gennady Poloka.

To be presented at the ceremony will be the main symbols of the national Academy of Film Art and Science: its arms, banner and anthem. The winners of the most honorary nomination of the Golden Eagle prize awarded by the Academy "For Contribution to the Development of World Cinematography" will also be named.

There will probably be 4-6 winners, not necessarily film directors or actors, but representatives of all professions, from scriptwriters to artists and composers who take part in making films, noted Poloka. The prize will be awarded to 2-3 Russian cinematographers. One of them will be Andrei Tarkovsky, an outstanding film director of the latter half of the 20th century. He will be awarded posthumously.

The winners of honorary prizes for their contribution to the development of world cinematography will be defined at a general meeting of the Academy of Film Art and Science, which includes about 100 Russian cinematographers.
