On Saturday, the US European Command delegation arrived in Tbilisi on a working visit. According to information obtained by RIA Novosti from the press center of the Georgian Defense Ministry, during the visit, the US military officials will meet with Georgian Minister of Defense Lieutenant General David Tevzadze, Chief of Georgian General Staff Lieutenant General Jonny Pirtskhalaishvili and Georgian Envoy to the United Nations Rezo Adamia.
The US European Command representatives will attend the graduation ceremony of the Georgian "commandos" battalion - the first Georgian military unit trained by American instructors within the framework of the "Training and Fitting out" program for the Georgian Armed Forces. The ceremony will take place on December 15, on the Square of the Republic in Tbilisi.
In the future, American marines will train the personnel of the Sachkherski mountain rifle battalion.
